As you have access to Burning Arrow, try our burning arrow + apply poison + epidemic (mez skill) for inflicting large amounts of degen on clumped foes. Burning Arrow's quick recharge allows you to keep near-constant burning--although it can be very energy hungry. With apply poison and epidemic's ability to spread the conditions to other enemies, it should easily out-damage barrage on its own.

Note, however, that burning arrow's burning is not particularly long in duration. So to maximize the impact, you want to cast epidemic immediately so that the two skills hit at about the same time. Otherwise, when you spread the burning it won't last long enough for the full impact.

Epidemic and Burning Arrow is a quick way to burn your energy. That, and degen isn't really very effective in PvE.

And even then, Incendiary Arrows is far, far more efficient for degeneration.
